Pregnant Woman Stabbed in Bat Yam Apartment, Partner Arrested After Escape

A 44-year-old pregnant woman was stabbed multiple times in her Bat Yam apartment on the morning of January 17, 2026, following an alleged argument with her partner. The incident occurred on Derech Ben Gurion Street. After the attack, the suspect fled but was located and arrested in Holon after extensive police searches conducted by Bat Yam station officers.

The woman, reportedly in her fourth or fifth month of pregnancy, was found with stab wounds and significant blood at the scene. She was taken to Wolfson Hospital in mild condition and is currently undergoing tests to determine any risk to the fetus. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities examining the couple's history, which reportedly includes prior incidents of domestic violence.

It was revealed that the suspect had a previous conviction in May 2025 for assaulting another partner. Police recovered the knife believed to have been used in the stabbing at the scene. The suspect was transferred to Bat Yam police station for questioning and is expected to be brought before the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court to request an extension of his detention.
