Israeli Foreign Minister Reveals Hamas Funding of Pro-Palestinian 'Peace Flotilla' Activists
At an international ministers' conference in Washington on Thursday, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar exposed a troubling operational alliance between Palestinian terrorist organizations and radical left-wing groups in the West. Speaking at the event led by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Sa'ar detailed how these groups collaborate politically and in media campaigns, focusing on protest flotillas aimed at the Gaza Strip coastline.
Sa'ar accused these radical left-wing forces in Western democracies across Europe, Latin America, and Africa of partnering with Palestinian Islamic terror groups to challenge global democratic values. He specifically cited the so-called "Global Freedom Flotilla" as a prime example, which is portrayed as a humanitarian mission but in reality seeks to break a lawful naval blockade and serve terrorist interests, primarily Hamas.
He revealed that documents seized by the Israel Defense Forces show Hamas's financial involvement, operational control, and covert ownership of the flotilla vessels through a Spanish shell company. The flotilla is linked to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, providing a civilian cover for terrorist activities. Sa'ar explained that left-wing activists provide logistical support, recruit participants, mobilize student groups, and generate public pressure, while Hamas supplies the strategic direction.
The minister emphasized that Hamas has secretly funded and owned the so-called "peace ships," with direct ties documented between flotilla organizers and terrorist groups including Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. Senior Hamas operatives reportedly manage these campaigns from the UK and other Western capitals, according to Sa'ar's summary.
