Israeli Police Arrest Eight Motorcyclists for Dangerous Stunts Caught on Social Media

In a large-scale operation early Thursday morning in northern Israel, police arrested eight young motorcyclists suspected of performing and recording dangerous traffic violations. The suspects were taken directly from their beds during coordinated raids across seven different towns. The investigation, led by the Traffic Department's Central Unit with support from the National Road Safety Authority and other police units, began as a covert intelligence operation monitoring social media for videos of reckless riding.

The riders were documented performing life-threatening stunts such as prolonged wheelies on highways, extreme speeding, dangerous weaving between vehicles, and reckless overtaking. Police seized seven motorcycles and one car used in the offenses. Mechanical inspections revealed severe safety defects and suspected tampering with vehicle identification numbers to avoid detection.

The suspects were interrogated and released under restrictive conditions pending prosecution. Police emphasized their commitment to swiftly prosecuting road offenders and urged the public to report dangerous driving or share footage to help prevent accidents. Traffic Department representative Superintendent Yuval Harel stated, "Those who endanger lives and boast about it on social media should know their videos will be key evidence leading to their arrest and prosecution."

The operation involved about 70 officers from various units, including the Traffic Department, Border Police, National Guard, and air support. Police highlighted the importance of community cooperation in combating road violence and saving lives on Israeli roads.
