Forward Aaron Wheeler Signs with Newly Promoted Hapoel Eilat Basketball Team
Aaron Wheeler, a 27-year-old forward standing 2.06 meters tall, has officially signed with Hapoel Eilat, the newly promoted team to the Israeli Basketball Premier League, for the upcoming season. Wheeler previously played for Hapoel HaEmek last season, where he averaged 7.9 points and 5 rebounds over 14 games before suffering a knee injury in January that sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
Before arriving in Israel, Wheeler competed in the French league during the 2024-2025 season with Soule, averaging 8.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game. His first European team was the Slovenian club KK Patrioti. In the United States, Wheeler played in the G League for the Windy City Bulls and Greensboro Swarm, and at the collegiate level, he represented St. John's Red Storm and Purdue Boilermakers.
Hapoel Eilat's acquisition of Wheeler aims to strengthen their roster as they prepare to compete in the top tier of Israeli basketball for the upcoming season.
