Hapoel Eilat Boosts Budget to 12 Million Shekels Ahead of Premier League Return
Hapoel Eilat is preparing for its return to the Israeli Basketball Premier League with a significantly increased budget of around 12 million shekels for the upcoming season. The club aims to sign two Israeli players, including one senior player, to respond proactively to the transfer market movements and gain a competitive edge.
The team was surprised when player Hanan As signed with Bnei Herzliya, despite ongoing discussions with Eilat. The club believes As's decision was influenced by his desire to compete in European tournaments, which Eilat currently cannot offer.
So far, Eilat has secured contracts with three Israeli players: Tzuf Ben Moshe, Eliad Tal, and Tomer Porat. The roster is planned to include five foreign players, four Israelis, and three young players. While the club has not yet actively pursued foreign signings, it is engaged in talks with Austin Tillman.
These preparations reflect Eilat's strategic approach to strengthening its squad and budget to ensure a strong comeback in the top tier of Israeli basketball.
