Forward Aaron Wheeler Negotiates with Newly Promoted Israeli Basketball Team Ironi Eilat
Aaron Wheeler, a 27-year-old forward standing 2.06 meters tall, is currently in negotiations with Ironi Eilat, the newly promoted team to the Israeli Basketball Premier League. Wheeler played last season for Hapoel HaEmek, where he averaged 7.9 points and 5 rebounds over 14 games before suffering a knee injury in January that sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
Prior to his time in Israel, Wheeler competed in the French league during the 2024-2025 season with Soule, averaging 8.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game. Before that, he played for the Slovenian team KK Petriti, marking his first European club experience. In the United States, Wheeler played in the G-League for the Windy City Bulls and Greensboro Swarm, and at the collegiate level for St. John's Red Storm and Purdue Boilermakers.
Ironi Eilat is looking to strengthen its roster ahead of its debut in the top Israeli league, and Wheeler's experience in multiple leagues and his recent recovery from injury are key factors in the ongoing discussions. The club and player have yet to finalize the agreement.
