Forward Aaron Wheeler in Talks to Join Israeli Premier League Team Ironi Eilat
Aaron Wheeler, a 27-year-old forward standing 2.06 meters tall, is currently in negotiations with Ironi Eilat, the newly promoted team to the Israeli Basketball Premier League. Wheeler previously played for Hapoel HaEmek during the last season, appearing in 14 games and averaging 7.9 points and 5 rebounds per game. However, he suffered a knee injury in January and has not returned to play since then.
Before his time in Israel, Wheeler competed in the French league during the 2024-2025 season with Soule, where he averaged 8.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game. Prior to that, he played for the Slovenian team KK Petriti, marking his first European club experience. In the United States, Wheeler played in the G League for the Windy City Bulls and Greensboro Swarm, and at the collegiate level for St. John's Red Storm and Purdue Boilermakers.
Ironi Eilat is looking to strengthen its roster as it prepares for competition in the top Israeli basketball league, and Wheeler's experience in multiple leagues makes him a potential key addition. The negotiations are ongoing, and no final agreement has been announced yet.
