Israel and Colombia Agree to Fully Restore Diplomatic Ties and Open Embassy in Jerusalem
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar and Colombia's incoming Foreign Minister Omar Bola Escobar met in Washington to finalize the full restoration of diplomatic relations between Israel and Colombia. They agreed to reopen Colombia's embassy in Jerusalem following the inauguration of Colombia's newly elected president, Abelardo de la Espriella, on August 7. The ministers committed to immediately appointing ambassadors to each other's countries and resuming full diplomatic and economic cooperation. Additionally, they agreed to mutually waive visa requirements for citizens traveling between the two nations.
