IDF Kills Hamas Militant Behind Kidnapping of Three Soldiers in Kibbutz Nirim
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) eliminated Hassam Shaafi, a Hamas militant from the East Khan Yunis Battalion, in southern Gaza Strip yesterday. Shaafi was involved in the October 7 attack on Kibbutz Nirim, during which he participated in the abduction of three Israeli soldiers: Colonel Asaf Hamami, Sergeant First Class Tomer Ahimaz, and Corporal Kirill Brodsky, all of whom were killed in the ensuing battle. The targeted killing was carried out based on intelligence information and fire coordination by the Gaza Division's Fire Center (143), under which the three soldiers had served during the incident.
