Dozens of Haredi Protesters Demand Autonomy Outside Israeli Military Recruitment Offices

In recent hours, dozens of Haredi protesters gathered outside military recruitment offices in Jerusalem and Tel HaShomer, coinciding with a recruitment day for Haredi military tracks. At Tel HaShomer, demonstrators held signs demanding "Haredi autonomy," some blocking roads and chanting slogans such as "Better to die than enlist." In Jerusalem, many protesters appeared to be from the Mea Shearim neighborhood, vocally opposing conscription.

The police reported that officers from the Jerusalem District were present near the recruitment office in Jerusalem due to what they described as an unlawful disturbance following the protest. Authorities are working to maintain public order and keep traffic flowing, dispersing individuals who began to riot. The police emphasized their commitment to allowing freedom of expression and protest within legal boundaries but warned they would not tolerate public disorder or disruption of traffic routes.
