Colombian Man Arrested for Smuggling 10 Kg of Cocaine Disguised as Pilot at Bogota Airport

A man attempting to board a flight from Colombia to Spain was arrested at El Dorado International Airport in Bogota after police discovered he was disguised as a pilot and carrying approximately 10 kilograms of cocaine on his body. The suspect wore a blue pilot jacket with gold shoulder stripes and claimed to be part of an international aircrew, allegedly trying to exploit the trust and authority associated with the uniform to bypass security checks unnoticed.

Security personnel became suspicious of his behavior, leading to a search that revealed five rectangular packages of cocaine attached to his upper body with a specially designed belt. The total amount of cocaine seized could have been divided into about 25,000 doses for the European market. The man, a foreign national whose name was not disclosed, was detained on the spot.

Colombian police are investigating whether he acted alone or was part of a larger international drug trafficking network attempting to smuggle cocaine from Colombia to Europe via commercial flights. Authorities stated that the arrest prevented a significant quantity of narcotics from reaching international markets and dealt an economic blow to criminal organizations.
