Super-Pharm Enters Israeli Electric Car Market Selling Chinese AION Models Online
Super-Pharm, a leading Israeli pharmacy chain, is entering the electric vehicle market for the first time by offering Chinese-made AION electric cars. These vehicles are produced by the GAC Group and imported to Israel by Orion Mobility, part of the Union Group owned by George Khoursh. Khoursh, a shareholder in Super-Pharm, is leveraging the chain's online platform to sell the cars he imports.
Customers can reserve an AION vehicle on Super-Pharm's website with a 2,000 shekel deposit and complete the purchase at an AION showroom. Initially, Super-Pharm will offer the AION V model at 155,000 shekels and the PURE AION HT model at 180,000 shekels. To attract buyers, the chain will provide incentives including a charging station valued at 2,500 shekels and a 5,000 shekel gift card for Super-Pharm products.
This move follows recent trends where electric vehicles have been sold through supermarket chains like Rami Levy and Osher Ad, in cooperation with car importers. However, Super-Pharm's approach is unique in that it uses its online platform to start the purchase process, allowing customers to order the car online before finalizing the deal at the importer’s showroom.
