Rami Levy and Rami Levy Stock will begin selling 12 BAIC vehicles in Israel in August, in partnership with Dallhom Motors. The cars will be displayed only at the Rami Levy Stock branch in Pardes Hanna, while sales will take place at all Rami Levy Shivuk Hashikma branches. Buyers will first pay a reservation fee in store or on a dedicated website, then settle the balance, including possible financing, with Dallhom Motors, and receive the car within 48 hours.
The line-up will include family cars, premium models and commercial vehicles. According to Dallhom Motors, the offer will include a fully electric family sedan for under 100,000 shekels, full electric family SUVs, off-road vehicles, premium cars, work vehicles and FOTON pickups, as well as ArcFox electric models. The BAIC EU5 sedan will be sold in hundreds of units for 99,999 shekels, with delivery planned for August. The company also plans to sell 10 units each of the ArcFox T5 and Alpha S5 in Pro Plus trim for 165,000 shekels each.
Further down the line, BAIC’s BJ30 Hybrid family model is also expected to be offered, though it is not yet clear which version will come to Israel. FOTON commercial vehicles listed for sale include the Cavan 50 for 195,000 shekels, Tunland G7 for 262,000, eTOANO for 285,000, e-Tunland for 326,000, Tunland V9 100 for 300,000, plus eVIEW Grand and other work vehicles. Most of the models have not yet undergone Euro NCAP testing, although the company says they passed the Chinese C-NCAP tests.
BAIC is one of China’s five largest car groups, is state-owned, and ranks among Fortune’s 200 biggest companies. It produces about 2 million vehicles a year and exports to roughly 80 countries. Its vehicles use Huawei technology, and they are designed by Walter de Silva, formerly head of design at Volkswagen, Audi and Alfa Romeo. BAIC also makes Mercedes and Hyundai vehicles for the Chinese market and was chosen to build cars for Xiaomi; it owns FOTON, China’s largest truck maker.
