Rami Levy Stock is entering Israel’s car market, following the move by Osher Ad, and will begin selling vehicles at its Pardes Hanna branch. The company says the goal is to offer a cheaper alternative to traditional showrooms and challenge their dominance in the local market.
At the launch, the branch will stock only 100 cars, drawn from 12 models that include both fully electric vehicles and conventional gasoline-powered ones. The effort is being carried out with Dahom Motors, the official Israeli importer for the Chinese state-owned automaker BAIC, one of China’s five largest carmakers.
Buyers will pay a relatively small down payment at the store, while financing and delivery will be handled directly through the importer’s showrooms. The most prominent model in the lineup is the BAIC EU5 electric family sedan, priced below 100,000 shekels, with the first deliveries expected to reach Israeli roads in August.
The assortment will also include family crossover models from the BJ30 hybrid line, premium electric cars under the ArcFox brand that meet European standards, and commercial vehicles such as work trucks, pickups and vans from Foton. Rami Levy’s management said this is not a short-term gimmick but a deliberate strategy to bring the discount-retail model into the car sector and create a better deal for Israeli consumers.
