Rami Levy’s stock retail chain is entering the growing trend of car sales through supermarket-style retailers and will begin offering new vehicles to its customers. The move comes shortly after Osher Ad ran a sales promotion for Kia vehicles in its branches, but in this case the cars will be sold directly under a cooperation agreement with an importer.
Under the deal with Dalhom Motors, the Chinese-brand importer, the first offering will include 100 BAIC EU5 electric cars. The sedan will be priced at 99,999 shekels, and the first deliveries are expected in August.
The companies said the lineup will later expand to include the BJ30 Hybrid crossover with all-wheel drive, as well as the all-electric ArcFox T5 and ArcFox S5. The BAIC EU5 is a family electric sedan, and according to the manufacturer it offers a driving range of 416 kilometers under the Chinese standard. BAIC says it is one of the company’s older models, first unveiled in 2017.
Customers will be able to buy the car through the chain’s branches or via a dedicated website. After paying a deposit and completing the transaction with the importer, the vehicle will be delivered to the buyer shortly afterward.
