US Military Aircraft Evacuation Halted at Ben Gurion Airport Amid Rising Iranian Tensions

About two and a half weeks ago, Israel's Ministry of Transportation announced that the summer flight threat had been lifted. However, due to escalating tensions on the Iranian front, the evacuation of US military aircraft from Ben Gurion Airport has been halted. The Israel Airports Authority has issued warnings about a shortage of parking spaces for civilian aircraft, which could jeopardize tens of thousands of flight tickets. The removal of US refueling planes has been paused for now, and four additional US military aircraft landed in Israel overnight. The Airports Authority cautions that if the situation does not improve in the coming days, airlines may be forced to cancel tens of thousands of flight tickets as early as August.
