Israel Debates US Air Refuelers' Parking at Ben Gurion Airport Amid Security Talks
The office of Israeli Transportation Minister Miri Regev announced that the dispute over parking US military refueling aircraft at Ben Gurion Airport has been resolved. They stated that by July 21, the number of refueling planes stationed at the airport will be reduced to 20, as agreed with the US military. The remaining refuelers will be relocated to Israeli Defense Forces bases designated by the Ministry of Defense.
However, the Ministry of Defense contradicted this claim, saying no final agreement has been reached to limit the number of refuelers at Ben Gurion to 20. They emphasized that further discussions are planned and that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will ultimately have to make the decision on the matter.
