Undocumented worker suspected of indecent assault on Tel Aviv resident during renovation work

An undocumented resident of Nablus, 57, was arrested on suspicion of committing an indecent act against a 40-year-old Tel Aviv resident while working as a renovation laborer at her home in the city’s south. This morning, Thursday, after the investigation was completed, prosecutors filed a declaration of intent to indict him and his remand was extended by four days, until next Sunday. Prosecutors intend to file an indictment against him in the coming days.

According to police, the report of the incident was received at the 100 hotline last week. Officers from the Sharet station in the Ayalon district arrived at the scene, collected evidence and arrested the suspect, who was found to be in Israel without a permit. During the renovation work at the complainant’s home, the suspect approached her, grabbed her by force and kissed her against her will.

The investigation into the circumstances of the case found that while working at the complainant’s home, the suspect approached her, told her that she needed to be “more liberated,” and then, according to the suspicion, grabbed her by force, pressed her body against his, kissed her and put his tongue in her mouth, all against her will. The suspect was arrested shortly after the report was received, questioned at the Sharet station and detained. His remand was repeatedly extended in court, and this morning, after the investigation was completed, a declaration of intent to indict was filed against him. His remand was extended for another four days, until next Sunday, ahead of the filing of an indictment.
