Antisemitic Attack Defaces Jewish Family Home in Adelaide with Swastikas and Hate Speech

A serious antisemitic incident occurred over the weekend in Adelaide, South Australia, where unknown perpetrators spray-painted three swastikas and the hateful phrase "Jews are dogs" on the home of a Jewish family in the Camden Park neighborhood. The attackers also slashed the tires of a vehicle parked nearby. South Australia Police have launched an investigation, stating the attack was likely motivated by the family's religion.

The homeowner, Rosty Sverdlov, father of seven, initially thought the damage was random vandalism but realized it was a targeted hate crime after noticing the Nazi symbols and antisemitic graffiti. He told Australian media, "We are Jewish and have never hidden it. This happens for no reason. People feel safe doing terrible things." Neighbors and friends offered to help clean the graffiti, but Sverdlov chose to leave it visible to highlight the cruelty of the attack on a family home rather than a Jewish institution.

Police reported that security cameras captured a dark sedan arriving early Saturday morning, with two individuals exiting the vehicle and approaching the house to carry out the attack. Authorities are seeking public assistance to identify the suspects, and the investigation is ongoing.
