Ram Liran Appointed Deputy Editor and Head of Supplements at Calcalist

Ariel Shmidberg, editor of Calcalist, announced the appointment of Ram Liran as the new deputy editor of the publication. In this role, Liran will oversee Calcalist's supplements division, including the weekly and special supplements. Liran brings over 20 years of journalistic experience and has held senior editorial and management positions. He currently serves as head of the news department and digital editor at Maariv. Previously, he was deputy head of the news department at Israel Hayom and edited special supplements.

Liran holds a bachelor's and master's degree in history and is pursuing doctoral studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is also a graduate of Galei Tzahal (IDF Radio). Two weeks prior, Shmidberg appointed Roee Bergman, formerly head of Calcalist's news department, as deputy editor. Additionally, Neta-Lee Binshtok, previously deputy head of the news department, was promoted to head of the news department.

Shmidberg praised Liran as a talented editor with proven leadership skills, expressing confidence that his addition alongside Bergman and Binshtok strengthens Calcalist's editorial team. Liran expressed excitement about joining Calcalist and thanked Shmidberg for the trust, committing to delivering high-quality, in-depth, innovative, and engaging journalism. Liran is set to begin his new role in early August.
