Jayden Adams, a 25-year-old midfielder for the South African national soccer team, has died by suicide shortly after returning from the World Cup tournament, according to initial reports from South Africa. Adams played in all three group stage matches for the South African team, known as Bafana Bafana. Social media reports confirmed his passing and noted that his grandmother, who raised him, had died two weeks earlier at the age of 72. Adams was also a player for the South African club Mamelodi Sundowns.
