Maccabi Tel Aviv Signs Victor Palchenko as First Foreign Player for 2026/27 Season

Maccabi Tel Aviv's handball team announced the signing of Victor Palchenko, a 26-year-old left back standing 1.90 meters tall, as their first foreign player for the 2026/2027 season. Palchenko, who holds both French and Russian citizenship, brings extensive professional experience from European leagues. He began his career in France, playing from 2017 to 2022 for top clubs including Nantes, Sesson-Rennes, and Angers, competing in the French premier league, the EHF Champions League, and other European competitions.

In 2023, Palchenko moved to Switzerland where he won the national championship with his team in Geneva. The following season, he joined JAGS Vöslau in Austria, leading the club to the Austrian league title and a cup final appearance, while also participating in the EHF European Cup. Palchenko expressed excitement about joining Maccabi Tel Aviv, praising the club's passion and promising to give his all in every training and match. He emphasized his competitive nature, leadership qualities, and commitment to playing with intensity and heart for the team and its fans.

Maccabi Tel Aviv's coach, Evitar Gevaon, highlighted Palchenko's significant impact in Austria and described him as a "true game beast" who demonstrates full commitment on the court. Gevaon noted that Palchenko possesses the qualities they sought for the left back position, including dedication, intensity, winning mentality, and high-level European experience. The coach expressed confidence that Palchenko would contribute greatly on both offense and defense for the team in the upcoming season.
