Arkia Airlines Resumes Direct Flights from Israel to Marrakech After Three Years
Arkia Airlines announced on Wednesday that it will restart direct flights from Israel to Marrakech, Morocco, beginning August 24, 2026, after a three-year hiatus caused by the war. The flights will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays using Airbus A320 aircraft, offering Israeli travelers renewed access to one of North Africa's most intriguing destinations.
This route revival follows extensive joint efforts involving aviation and security authorities, marking a significant development for Israeli passengers eager to visit Morocco again. Ticket prices will start at $329 one-way. Arkia emphasized that Israeli passport holders must obtain a visa in advance to enter Morocco, advising travelers to prepare accordingly.
The direct Israel-Marrakech route originally launched in summer 2021, with flight durations ranging from five and a half to six hours. Prior to the conflict, Israir and El Al operated three weekly flights. Arrivals land at Menara Airport (RAK), located about six kilometers southeast of Marrakech, which has two terminals: Terminal 1 for arrivals and Terminal 3 for departures. Marrakech is renowned for its vibrant markets, gardens, palaces, mosques, and the city's historic narrow alleys and courtyards, making it a popular and culturally rich destination.
