Yam Madar Returns to Israel to Accelerate Negotiations with Maccabi Tel Aviv

Yam Madar is set to return to Israel from the Israeli national team camp in Latvia on Saturday morning to try and expedite stalled contract talks with Maccabi Tel Aviv. Despite his desire to play for Maccabi Tel Aviv, the prolonged negotiations without resolution have raised concerns that the deal may not materialize. Maccabi Tel Aviv claimed that Madar and his representatives rejected their latest offer, demanding higher pay, while Madar's camp contends that the rejected offer differed from the initial terms agreed upon.

Madar is expected to rejoin the national team camp in Croatia by Sunday afternoon. During his brief time in Israel, he will be unable to meet with Hapoel Tel Aviv owner Ofer Yanai, who is currently in the United States, and due to the Sabbath, Madar will only be available late Sunday morning. Madar recently delivered a career-high 31 points for the Israeli national team in a loss to Germany, earning praise from national coach Ariel Beit Halachmi for his dedication and performance.

In the Israeli Premier League regular season, Madar averaged 13.2 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists per game, improving significantly in the playoffs with 19.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists. However, in the EuroLeague, he played only 16 games with limited minutes, averaging 3.1 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.
