Yam Madar Agrees to Three-Year Deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball

Yam Madar is set to finalize a major transfer to Maccabi Tel Aviv after a lengthy meeting between the player and club officials. The discussions, which lasted several hours overnight between Saturday and Sunday, resulted in mutual understandings, with the deal expected to be completed soon. Madar is poised to sign a three-year contract with a mutual option for an additional two years, earning approximately $2 million per season. Although the contract has not yet been officially signed, only minor details remain to be resolved.

Prior to the negotiations with the club owners, Madar held a private meeting with Maccabi Tel Aviv coach Oded Katash, who expressed his strong desire to have Madar on the team. Madar returned to Israel during the national team window specifically to finalize this agreement before rejoining the Israeli national team for their upcoming game against Croatia.

Madar impressed during the recent finals series playing for Hapoel Tel Aviv against Maccabi Tel Aviv, scoring 34 points with 10 assists in the second game and 26 points with 9 assists in the fourth game, following a 41-point performance in the regular season derby. Last season, he averaged 13.2 points per game with a 41.8% three-point shooting percentage and 4 assists in the Israeli Premier League, while in the EuroLeague he averaged 3.1 points in 9 minutes and 42 seconds per game.
