Yam Madar Signs Record Two-Year Deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball

Yam Madar has agreed to join Maccabi Tel Aviv on a two-year contract, becoming the highest-paid player in the club's history when accounting for employer costs and Israeli taxation. Madar will earn a net salary of $2 million per season, nearly double that of current top earner Roman Sorkin, with expectations of further salary increases due to his valued status within the team. For Maccabi Tel Aviv, the total employer cost will reach approximately $4 million annually. Previously, Carlos Arroyo held the highest salary at $2.5 million, but without the additional tax burden applicable to Israeli players. Madar recently paid a $300,000 buyout to Hapoel Tel Aviv, most of which Maccabi Tel Aviv will cover through a $250,000 signing bonus. This deal marks a significant investment by the reigning Israeli champions in their roster ahead of the upcoming season.
