Yam Madar Officially Signs Three-Year Deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv
Yam Madar has officially signed a three-year contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv, including an option for two additional years, with a salary of two million dollars per season plus bonuses. The 25-year-old guard recently ended his tenure with Hapoel Tel Aviv and expressed his desire to play under coach Oded Katash after discussions between the parties. Maccabi Tel Aviv managed to close the relatively small financial gap between their offer and Madar's demands, leading to the announcement of the signing.
Madar activated his free agent option earlier this week, becoming a free agent on Tuesday. Hapoel Tel Aviv offered him approximately 2.7 million euros per season, but the club claimed Madar demanded at least 3.5 million euros. Meanwhile, Maccabi Tel Aviv pursued Madar with a $2 million per season offer and the promise of more EuroLeague playing time.
During the regular season in the Israeli Premier League, Madar averaged 13.2 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. He elevated his performance in the playoffs, averaging 19.6 points (with a 45.8% three-point shooting), 3.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists. However, in the EuroLeague, he played only 16 games, averaging 9.4 minutes, 3.1 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.
