Yam Madar Set to Sign Long-Term Deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball

After lengthy negotiations, all obstacles have been cleared for Yam Madar to sign with Maccabi Tel Aviv, the reigning Israeli basketball champions. The main issues concerning insurance coverage and the buyout payment to Hapoel Tel Aviv have been resolved. Madar is expected to sign a lucrative contract worth $2 million net per season for three guaranteed years, with an additional two years under a mutual opt-out clause.

Madar, 25, impressed during the finals against Maccabi Tel Aviv last season, scoring 34 points with 10 assists in the second game and 26 points with nine assists in the fourth game, along with a 41-point performance in the regular season derby. This season, he averaged 13.2 points per game with a 41.8% three-point shooting percentage and 4 assists in the Israeli Premier League, while in the EuroLeague he averaged 3.1 points in 9 minutes and 42 seconds per game.

Joining Maccabi Tel Aviv will mark the fourth team in Madar's professional career, following stints with Hapoel Tel Aviv, Partizan Belgrade, and Fenerbahçe. It will also be his fourth EuroLeague team. The signing is expected to be officially announced soon after the contract is signed.
