Maccabi Tel Aviv is intensifying efforts to sign a leading center for their EuroLeague roster, focusing on Bruno Fernando of Partizan Belgrade. The club initially aimed to secure Rishon Holmes, who recently left Panathinaikos, but Holmes is currently hesitant about moving to Israel. Consequently, Maccabi accelerated negotiations with Fernando, anticipating he can be released from his Partizan contract to join the team. Bruno Fernando, 27 years old and 2.08 meters tall, has an extensive NBA background, having played for Atlanta, Boston, Houston, and Toronto. He moved to Europe in the 2024/2025 season, signing with Real Madrid, where he started the 2025/2026 season averaging 4.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per EuroLeague game. Mid-season, he transferred to Partizan Belgrade, improving his stats to 8.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game in the EuroLeague.
