Education Minister Yoav Kish Criticizes Teachers' Union Head Ran Erez Over Strike Threat
Education Minister Yoav Kish responded sharply to threats by Ran Erez, chairman of the teachers' union, who warned of a strike if teachers are not compensated for a day lost due to the conflict with Iran. Kish stated that after more than 30 years in his position, Erez has not achieved any significant gains for teachers. He clarified that the directive to deduct pay is issued by the Finance Ministry, not the Education Ministry, and that the matter will be resolved in court. Kish also warned that any attempt to strike the education system will be met with a legal request for an injunction from the labor court.
