Israeli Health Ministry Warns Against LEGEND Hair Straightening Product After Woman Hospitalized

The Israeli Ministry of Health has filed a police complaint following the hospitalization of a woman in intensive care due to severe kidney failure after using a hair straightening treatment at a home salon in Hadera. The ministry issued a public warning against the use, marketing, or distribution of the LEGEND hair straightening product, sold by Chazi Eden, until further notice.

During an inspection at the factory listed on the product label, samples were collected and preliminary findings raised concerns that the product used did not visually match the factory-produced version. The Ministry of Health cautioned that purchasing hair straightening products from unauthorized or unknown sources, or using them outside their licensed conditions, poses a health risk to the public.

The ministry advised anyone experiencing symptoms such as significant reduction or absence of urine, swelling of the face, legs, or ankles, nausea, vomiting, extreme fatigue, abdominal or back pain, shortness of breath, confusion, or clouded consciousness after hair straightening should seek immediate medical attention.

This incident highlights the dangers of unregulated cosmetic products and the importance of using authorized treatments to prevent severe health complications.
