On Tuesday morning, several explosions were reported near the Four Seasons hotel in Damascus, where French President Emmanuel Macron is staying during his official visit to Syria. According to an Arabic Sky News report, Macron is currently being received at the palace of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. A Reuters correspondent noted that Macron did not hear any explosions while en route to the meeting. Macron arrived in Syria on Monday for an official visit, marking the first time a French president has visited the country since 2008. Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad welcomed Macron at Damascus International Airport.
