Father of Fallen Soldier Criticizes Political Inquiry Law as Attempt to Hide Truth
Rafi Ben Shtrit, father of Lieutenant Alroi Ben Shtrit who was killed on October 7 during the battle for Nahal Oz, spoke out against the recently passed political inquiry committee law. In an interview with ynet, Ben Shtrit, a founding member of the "October Council," accused the political leadership of trying to conceal the truth about the events surrounding his son's death. He stated that the law is designed to whitewash the role of the political echelon and predicted that it would eventually be repealed. Ben Shtrit expressed hope that a future government would establish a state commission of inquiry to properly investigate the matter. He also revealed that opposition leaders were asked not to participate in the discussions or vote on the law.
