Rafi Ben Shitrit Demands State Inquiry, Accuses Netanyahu of Avoiding Responsibility

During a meeting of the Yisrael Beiteinu faction on Monday, party member Rafi Ben Shitrit called for the establishment of a state commission of inquiry. He emphasized the need to investigate a series of failures, including intelligence lapses, operational unpreparedness of the military, strategic underestimation of threats, and serious deficiencies in war preparedness. Ben Shitrit directly blamed the Prime Minister's Office for these failures, accusing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of evading responsibility and suggesting he has something to hide. He used a Hebrew idiom to imply Netanyahu is the main culprit, stating, "The thief's hat is burning on his head."
