Six-Year-Old in Critical Condition After Drowning in Holon Public Pool

A six-year-old boy is in critical condition after drowning in a public pool in Holon on Saturday. Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics arrived at the scene to find the child unconscious, without pulse or breathing, and immediately began resuscitation efforts. Paramedics Amit Yehudai and Eran Carmel reported continuing life-saving treatment while transporting him to the hospital.

Earlier the same day, a three-year-old boy drowned in a private pool in the Shdot Negev Regional Council area and was also in serious condition. MDA medic Uriel Cohen described finding the child unconscious near the pool and providing respiratory support and medication before transferring him to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba.

In Haifa, five swimmers were rescued from strong currents after ignoring lifeguard warnings and swimming beyond designated safe zones marked by black flags. Eliezer Gita, head of a Haifa lifeguard station, emphasized the dangers of the rough sea and the importance of obeying lifeguard instructions to prevent accidents, noting that even experienced swimmers can be caught in rip currents.

These incidents highlight the risks of swimming in both pools and open water during the summer, underscoring the need for vigilance and adherence to safety guidelines.
