Six-Year-Old Rescued from Drowning in Holon Pool After Heart Restarted
A six-year-old boy was pulled unconscious from a public pool in Holon on Saturday, initially without pulse or breathing. Emergency responders, including paramedics and medics from Magen David Adom, arrived promptly and began prolonged advanced resuscitation efforts at the scene. The child was found lying near the pool's edge, with lifeguards already performing basic CPR.
The medical team continued intensive life-saving treatment and transported the boy to Wolfson Medical Center in Holon while maintaining resuscitation efforts en route. During the dramatic ambulance transfer, the boy's heart miraculously restarted. Paramedics Amit Yehudai and Eran Carmel, who were part of the emergency motorcycle unit and emergency medical team, described their continuous efforts to save the child's life from the moment they arrived.
Upon arrival at Wolfson Hospital, doctors are continuing to provide critical care as they fight to stabilize the boy's condition, which remains serious. The incident highlights the rapid response and dedication of Israel's emergency medical services in life-threatening situations.
