A special, limited gathering was held Tuesday to mark the publication of "Midrash Avraham with the Explanation Ohel Avraham," a new book featuring the Torah teachings and manuscripts of the late Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, known as the "Prince of Torah." The book compiles interpretations of ancient Midrashic texts concerning Abraham from his birth to his death, with Rabbi Kanievsky having written a unique commentary on these sources.

The publication was overseen by Rabbi Kanievsky's son, Rabbi Avraham Yeshayahu Kanievsky, head of the Orchos Yosher Kollel, who has previously published his father's works on various biblical scrolls and Midrashic texts during Rabbi Kanievsky's lifetime. The commentary itself was written by Rabbi Kanievsky in 2017, following his request and instructions, and is the final volume in a series that includes "Midrash Noah" and "Sefer HaBahir."

The intimate ceremony, held at the home of Rabbi A.I. Kanievsky, was attended by several of Rabbi Kanievsky's prominent students and close associates, including Rabbis Isaiah Epstein and Yitzchak Ohev Zion, as well as Rabbi Avraham Moyal, a close confidant and rabbi of the Esh HaChaim community in New York, who funded the first edition.

Rabbi Avraham Yeshayahu Kanievsky spoke at the event, noting that after two years of diligent work organizing the material, the project was complete. He expressed certainty that his father, Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, would be joyful in heaven at the book's release, just as he rejoiced in the publication of any new book during his life.

Rabbis Moyal and Ohev Zion also addressed the attendees, sharing memories of Rabbi Kanievsky's life and his dedicated work on compiling these texts.
