A special ceremony was held Tuesday to mark the publication of a new book containing the teachings and manuscripts of the late Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, a prominent Torah scholar.

The book, titled "Midrash Avraham with the Explanation of Ohel Avraham," is a compilation of rabbinic texts concerning Abraham from his birth to his death, with Rabbi Kanievsky having written a special commentary on these texts. The publication was overseen by Rabbi Kanievsky's son, Rabbi Abraham Yeshayahu Kanievsky, head of the Orchos Yosher yeshiva, who has previously published his father's works.

Rabbi Kanievsky had written the commentary on the collected Midrashim in 2017, following his request and instructions. This latest work is the final in a series that includes books on Noah and the Sefer HaBahir, among others.

The intimate gathering included several of Rabbi Kanievsky's close students and associates, such as Rabbis Yishayahu Epstein and Yitzchak Ohev Zion, as well as Rabbi Abraham Moyal, the rabbi of the Ash HaChaim community in New York, who funded the first edition.

Rabbi Abraham Yeshayahu Kanievsky spoke at the event, noting that the work was completed after two years of effort and expressing certainty that his father would be pleased in the Garden of Eden by the book's release, just as he rejoiced over new publications during his life. Rabbis Moyal and Ohev Zion also shared memories of Rabbi Kanievsky's life and his dedication to writing.
