Maccabi Netanya is in advanced negotiations to appoint a Brazilian general manager, with the club hoping to finalize the decision within days. The team, currently experiencing a difficult period with only one win in its last seven games, is also focusing on strengthening its management structure. The candidate, described as a management professional with experience in the Brazilian league, is expected to arrive in Israel during the upcoming international break for a handover from the current general manager, Gil Lev.
Lev has announced his intention to leave the position and is awaiting his successor. Club owner Ross Kaston had previously attempted to hire Ben Mansford and has been seeking a foreign general manager, despite being offered several Israeli candidates.
In parallel, Maccabi Netanya is preparing for its next match against Maccabi Haifa, aiming to improve its recent performance and head into the break with a positive result. Key players Isaac, who is suspended, and Dolev Haziza, who aggravated a foot injury, will be absent. Haziza is expected to return after the break, while Dor Hugi or Eyalon Almog are likely to replace Isaac in the lineup.
