Israeli Premier League Soccer Player Accused of Sexual Assault by Medical Therapist

A medical therapist has filed a police complaint against a senior player in one of Israel's top Premier League soccer clubs, alleging sexual harassment and indecent acts. The therapist claims the player committed these acts without consent following a medical treatment session at the player's home. The therapist, represented by attorneys Yitzhak Sapir and Shimshon Klein, stated that the incident was a "severe and traumatic event" that has drastically altered his life and caused significant psychological distress, making it difficult to return to his profession and daily routine.

According to the therapist's police testimony, he was providing a common treatment for soccer players when the alleged assault occurred. He reportedly provided the police with evidence of the acts. Following the incident, the therapist was reportedly distressed and sought medical attention at a hospital emergency room.

The player allegedly sent the therapist numerous messages the following day, apologizing and attempting to dissuade him from filing a complaint. However, the therapist decided to report the incident to the police out of concern that there might be other victims.

Authorities expect the player to be summoned for questioning by the Central District Police in the coming days. Attorneys for the therapist emphasized the "blatant exploitation of the situation within the framework of professional treatment" and the severe negative impact on their client's mental state.
