Israeli security forces concluded an operation in Hebron early Monday, about a week and a half after a deadly shooting attack near the Yehuda Junction. The operation, which began following the deaths of two soldiers, Sergeant First Class Ron Yonatan Reitman and Sergeant Yuval Shai Suilam, involved forces taking control of neighborhoods in the city.

During the operation, four firearms, several vests, and additional military equipment were confiscated. Forces also scanned hundreds of locations, detained and interrogated dozens of suspects, and sealed an underground space found near the home of one of the terrorists. Additionally, IDF, Border Police, and Judea and Samaria District Police seized 25 illegal vehicles, similar to the one used by the terrorists in the attack.

The operation included units from Dovdevan, Maglan, Paratroopers, the reserve Givati reconnaissance unit, the Extraction Brigade, and police forces, with intelligence guidance from the Shin Bet.

This operation followed a shooting attack near the Yehuda Junction in the Hebron area last Friday, which killed the two soldiers and lightly wounded three others. Initial investigations indicated the two terrorists were relatives from the Ju'aba family in Hebron, affiliated with Hamas. They were reportedly on their way to carry out a major attack when they encountered a military checkpoint about 300 meters from the main road. An exchange of fire lasting about 20 minutes ensued, ending with the elimination of the terrorists by forces from the 101st Paratrooper Battalion and the Home Front Command. A large amount of ammunition was found in their vehicle, along with a long rifle and a pistol.
