Israeli Police Neutralize Attacker Attempting Stabbing in Lod

A suspected Palestinian attacker from the West Bank attempted to stab a Border Police officer in Lod on Wednesday. The incident began when officers identified a suspect carrying a knife and called for him to stop. The suspect fled toward a team of Border Police officers and tried to stab one of them. Another officer immediately fired at the assailant, neutralizing him on the spot. No officers were injured during the attack.

The Central District Police Chief, Commissioner Amir Cohen, is en route to Lod to oversee the situation and hold a situational assessment. The police have classified the event as a terror attack and are investigating the circumstances and background of the assailant.
