Israeli Police Neutralize Knife-Wielding Attacker in Lod After Child's Tip

A security incident unfolded in Lod on Wednesday when a knife-wielding assailant charged at a police officer and was promptly neutralized. The event began after a young girl reported to the emergency hotline 100 about a suspicious individual sitting near a school holding a knife and tapping it on the ground. Responding officers arrived at the scene, and footage shows a police officer from the Israeli Border Police (Yasam) conducting a foot patrol.

As the officer scanned the area, the attacker, an Arab resident of Lod with a known criminal background and previous prison time, suddenly ran toward him with a drawn knife. The officer ordered the attacker to stop, but when the assailant attempted to stab him in the head, the officer pushed him away and shot him at close range, neutralizing the threat.

The attacker is recognized by local police due to his prior offenses. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
