Israeli Police Neutralize Knife-Wielding Suspect in Lod Attack Attempt
During a police operation in the city of Lod, officers from the Lod police station identified a suspect carrying a knife. When ordered to stop, the suspect ran toward a team of Israeli Border Police (Yasam) officers and allegedly attempted to stab one of them. In response, under Section 27a, one of the officers fired at the assailant, neutralizing the threat. No injuries were reported among the security forces.
Large forces from the Central District Police are currently securing the scene, isolating the area, and collecting evidence. The circumstances and motives behind the incident are under investigation. Central District Police Commander, Commissioner Amir Cohen, is en route to the site to conduct a situational assessment.
