Israeli Police Neutralize Suspect Attempting Stabbing in Lod

Israeli police reported that during a recent operation in the city of Lod, officers from the Lod police station identified a suspect carrying a knife. When the suspect was ordered to stop, he ran toward a team of Border Police fighters operating at the scene and allegedly attempted to stab one of them. The Border Police officer responded by firing at the assailant, neutralizing him. No injuries were reported among the police forces. Large forces from the Central District Police are currently securing the area, collecting evidence, and investigating the circumstances and background of the incident. Central District Police Commander, Commissioner Amir Cohen, is en route to the scene to conduct a situation assessment.
