Czech football officials are actively pursuing Ori Yair Goren, a promising young player with Barcelona, to represent the Czech Republic internationally. Pavel Nedvěd, the Director of National Teams for the Czech Football Association, has reportedly made a formal offer to Goren, suggesting a place directly in the senior national team. Nedvěd has praised Goren, comparing his technical development to that of Pedri and noting he is a "typical product of Barcelona."
Czech media are excited about the prospect, calling it a "particularly tempting option" for Czech football. They highlight that Goren might have a better chance of participating in major tournaments with the Czech Republic, given Israel's limited history in the World Cup and their complete absence from the Euros. Goren, who currently plays for Israel's youth national teams, also holds Czech citizenship.
While Czech interest in Goren has been reported before, this marks the first time Nedvěd has publicly confirmed contact and the desire to integrate him into the senior squad. Goren was recently included in Barcelona's squad for El Clásico against Real Madrid, an advancement that reportedly caught Nedvěd's attention. No decision has yet been announced by Goren regarding the offer or an official call-up.
