Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir sharply criticized Police Commissioner Dani Levi on Thursday, accusing him of trying to appease the left and curry favor with the next government following the recent elections. Ben-Gvir stated that Levi has been acting for days as if he wants to please the "next government," specifically mentioning Yair Golan, and that "hallucinatory images from the Geha interchange" are part of Levi's "new agenda to flatter leftists."

Ben-Gvir expressed regret, noting that Levi, who had previously complied with all his requests for a year and a half, was now acting illegally against Haredim the day after the elections, turning them into his "punching bag."

United Torah Judaism party leader and Member of Knesset Yaakov Asher also condemned the police's actions. "Although we oppose road blockages, we cannot remain silent in the face of the difficult footage showing protesters, including a young man with special needs, lying on the ground injured and bleeding," Asher said.

Their remarks followed a protest against the arrest of draft dodgers on Highway 4, which led to severe clashes between police and protesters. Police used stun grenades against the demonstrators, injuring several, while three officers were also hurt in the confrontations.
