Maccabiah Organizers Cancel Reserve Soldiers' Tickets a Day Before Opening Ceremony

One day before the Maccabiah Games opening ceremony at Teddy Stadium, the event organizers canceled the tickets previously granted to reserve soldiers. The cancellation was announced on Tuesday evening during the Kan News broadcast. The organizers sent a message to reserve soldiers and their families explaining that due to production constraints, they had to reduce the number of guests allowed at the opening ceremony.

The message explicitly requested reserve soldiers and their families to refrain from coming to the Jerusalem venue, warning that entry would not be permitted. As compensation, the Maccabiah management offered the affected individuals tickets to an event at the "Expo Maccabiah City" festival in Tel Aviv instead.
