Israel's Ministry of Health has issued an urgent warning to the public against consuming food products manufactured or packaged at the Nir Vinitzan Trade Ltd. factory. The directive follows alarming findings during a supervisory inspection that revealed the factory was operating without a manufacturer's license and under extremely poor sanitary conditions, posing a significant risk to public health.

The ministry is advising consumers not to eat any products made or packed by the company, regardless of their expiration date up to and including February 2028. The warning encompasses a variety of food items marketed under the company's name, including shelled nuts, walnuts, cranberries, sesame seeds, dark raisins, coconut, and other types of nuts and seeds. These products are sold in packages ranging from 200 grams to 1 kilogram, under the brand name or labeled "packaged by Nir Vinitzan Trade Ltd."

According to an administrative restriction order signed on October 28, 2026, by Dr. Udi Kleiner, District Doctor of the Central District, severe deficiencies were discovered during an inspection of the factory and its food warehouse on October 18. The document noted that production and storage activities were conducted without the necessary manufacturer and business licenses, under highly unsanitary conditions. Furthermore, the production line and packaging equipment were also used for animal feed.

The investigation also found that the facility repackaged products, altering and extending their expiration dates. There is a serious concern that food packages already distributed to the public, or those stored at the factory, may bear incorrect expiration dates or contain traces of animal feed. Due to the inability to trace the products, distinguishing between defective and safe items is impossible.

Following these findings, the business owners were summoned for a hearing on October 25. After reviewing their arguments, the District Doctor determined that the business's current operations constitute a significant danger to public health. The Ministry of Health has ordered a 45-day suspension of all production, packaging, storage, and marketing activities at the facility, or until further notice. Additionally, all ready-to-eat food products packaged and stored at the factory for sale are to be disqualified and destroyed. The order emphasizes that even after the suspension period, the owners must refrain from production and storage until they obtain the required manufacturer and business licenses.
