Bnei Yehuda is looking to translate their strong league form into a successful run in the State Cup, hosting MS Ashdod on Wednesday evening in the "Tet" round. The team, known as "The Oranges," is coming off a decisive 5-1 victory in their last league match against MS Kiryat Shmona. Under coach Eli Levy, Bnei Yehuda remains undefeated in the National League after 11 rounds, holding second place with 27 points, just one point behind league leaders Ashdod.
Approximately 1,800 Bnei Yehuda fans are expected to attend, supporting the team's bid to advance to the "Het" round. The club places significant importance on the State Cup, a competition they have won four times previously, and hopes to begin their campaign with a home victory.
This will be the second of two encounters between the teams within five days. Bnei Yehuda previously defeated Ashdod 2-0 in a pre-season friendly in Bulgaria and secured a dominant 6-0 win in the Toto Cup semi-finals. Their next league match is scheduled for Monday at Yud-Alef Stadium.
For the match, all players will be available except for Yuval Piven, who sustained an injury in the Toto Cup final, and Guy Sibille, who is still recovering from a torn cruciate ligament.
Before kickoff, a moment of silence will be observed in memory of David Moshovitz, a founder of the Beit Dani Foundation and former CEO of Elite, who supported the club for many years. Players and fans from both teams will honor his memory, recognizing his contributions to community work in the "Hatikva" neighborhood and his long-standing connection with Elite and Bnei Yehuda.
